Official ICFP Press Conferences
There will be four official press conferences at the 2018 ICFP. All press conferences will take place at the Kigali Conference Center Media Room.

Monday, 12 November 2018 (5:30 PM – 6:00 PM): Opening Press Conference
Representatives from the Government of Rwanda, together with conference organizers and select partner spokespeople, will highlight the objectives for this year’s ICFP and Rwanda’s commitment to ensuring universal access to family planning tools and information by 2030. Speakers include:

Tuesday, 13 November 2018 (10:30 AM – 11:30 AM): Return on Investment for Family Planning
Following the first day plenary, government officials, economists and advocates will highlight the wide-ranging benefits of investing in family planning. Speakers will address the Demographic Dividend and highlight the role of local governments, international organizations and civil society in expanding access to family planning tools and information. Speakers include:

Wednesday, 14 November 2018 (10:30 AM – 11:30 AM): Family Planning and Youth
During this press conference, which follows the youth plenary, youth representatives ― together leaders from government and civil society ― will discuss why engaging youth is critical to expanding access to family planning, and will highlight innovative ways youth are closing the unmet family planning gap themselves. Speakers include:

- Dr. Tlaleng Mofokeng, Doctor, Nalane for Reproductive Justice (Youth)

Thursday, 15 November 2018 (12:00 PM – 1:00 PM): Bending the Curve for FP2020 Progress
During this press conference, policymakers and advocates will discuss the necessary steps to ensure women can make their own reproductive decisions. Panelists will also discuss programs and investments that expand access to family planning through commitments, use of data for decision making, and focus on reaching country-specific FP2020 goals. Speakers include:
